Update

Wow! It’s been a little bit since I updated this blog! What happened you may ask? Well life did.  I also have to type my blog on my phone because we still do not have internet so it takes forever to write anything.  Since I’ve been offline. My daughter graduated with her Associates in Visual Arts. She’s now taking the year off to get her portfolio ready for art school.

Our car Pirate now has an 8 year old sister named Buddi (also a rescue)  and they get along.. like you would expect an10 year old boy and an 8 year old girl to get along.., (even though in cat years they are cantakerous geriatrics) but they seem to have found a way to coexist while annoying the crap out of each other.

My husband is hanging in there. He went to prison in 2006 and he has til 2046. It’s taking a toll on him but that is to be expected.  He finally got a job in the prison a few months ago so that will take up some of his time during the day. He’s in a level 4 facility so he spends 22 hours a day locked down in his cell. With 2 1 hour recs during the day. It’s an old facility but according to my husband so far it’s been one of the better ones he’s been in since he went to prison in 2006.

My daughter and I go down as often as we can to see him though she has had to go in the last three times by herself. I had double pneumonia three weeks ago and was in the hospital. Certain conditions still make it hard for me to do things like walking up an incline with the wind blowing in my face so She has went in by herself. It’s tough I don’t like not seeing him but he understands what’s going on and just wants me to take care of myself.  So it still sucks but he understands.

We also found out while I was in the hospital that I have a condition called distolic dysfunction. Basically my heart pumps in ok but has some issues pumping out. It’s not very serious it’s not congestive heart failure but I’m on medications to lower my blood pressure. It’s slowly normalizing and though I will always have it the medications will control it.

Other than that I’m still in search of the illusive job and have gotten myself a few hobbies beyond reading everything I can get my hands on lol. I will start writing on here more often. This is basically just a blog to get me back in the habit of writing.  Til next time

Suicide The growing epidemic

Wrote in Response to Brian Head Welch's comment about Chester Bennington's suicide.  Written in emotion.  Please excuse mistakes.  By Rebecca Basley My heart is very heavy today. Not only am I mourning the loss of a very talented musician who lost his life to a horrible “disease” called depression that caused him to take his own life. I also have had to witness the backlash. The backlash of people who feel they have a right to judge him and his decisions and to see how this attack is affecting people, especially young people who like Chester and like myself, live with mental illness. First off, not all of us experience mental illness the same way. Just because your fight with mental illness never resulted in your desire to take your life doesn’t mean that this is the same for everyone else. For whatever reason, you had the wherewithal to fight off the tendency toward suicide does NOT give you the right to judge someone who has. According to the CD...

So what is interesting?

So what is interesting?  As a general answer, I would say everything.  There is so much to learn, think about, explore, reflect, and simply be in life that it hardly seems fair the short time we are on this earth in this existence to experience all that is interesting.  That is why my motto is " I'm not dead yet!"  I have learned to give "never" the finger in many ways but as with everyone I am a complex   coming to this way of thinking didn't happen overnight and I followed any interesting path to get here. I joke that it all started when I was being created.  I joke there was a panel of gods and goddesses for differing pantheons gathered to grant each new spirit a wish and from that wish, they decided which ones they favored.  While most newly developed spirits asked for things like love, happiness, peace, wisdom, wealth, power the tricksters sat there bored and half listening to what most said and perhaps choosing a few they wanted to mess with. W...
